Life casts shadows and always has plenty of obstacles and blocks to 

what I believe my potential to be.

By SEEKING the Sun (The Son) all day AND every day my pathway is lit 

and I am able to focus on being present in my day to day life.

This also brings me fulfillment and accomplishment which are two essential things 

that strengthen my hopes and desires for the future.  They greatly contribute to my ability 

to have the courage to keep moving in my positive direction.

A Rose

A rose lit by the setting sun.

We look at it and do not think about its battle to become the big beautiful blossom that it is.  

We only see the beautiful result of its life.

People, like the rose, have challenges and celebrations.  We need to remember that our challenges help us to become the big beautiful blossom that will inspire others as well as bring them hope and peace.  We also need to periodically look at our own progress and acknowledge our beauty -- look past the battle scars.

I leave to go somewhere at 7:30pm.

I see the moon is absolutely gorgeous.  Then I look behind me there it is even more awesome.

Of course, my inexperience and need to leave sooner than later does not do nature justice.

Yes, I am very much feeling my inadequacy.  But, also hope that it can and will be overcome.

A Patch of Blue

Ahhh, Nothing like a storm to bring out the beauty of nature!

Canadian Geese in Nature Made Pond

Canadian Geese first thing in the morning.

I have not been feeling well this last month.  Hopefully, I am back on track now.

Last night, when it was much too dark for photos, I passed a pond created by the recent rains.  This morning I went back to take pictures.  It was raining quite heavily, obviously, since the rain is much more visible than the geese.

It was all beautiful.  What a blessing to be able to witness it.

One morning this last week playing around with the settings on my camera.

I am still working on understanding how the camera works 

and how the various elements work (or not) with each other.

There is something wonderful and peaceful about the evening sky.

Try, Try Again

Ok.  So, we are finally "moved" whatever that truly means.  I am trying to get life "back to normal."  Whatever that may look like.  Due to my friend at Patricia Knight Photography.  I am also again excited for the opportunity to continue to develop my love of photography into something that I can share with the world in which I live.

Nature at Play

Photography Catches the Light

So, life gets to me frequently...it is not done with me yet.  As a result photo posting will continue to be sporadic over the next few months but I am expecting that it will be more consistent around September.

I subscribed to the Photo Nuts and Bolts course available through Digital-Photography-School.com  As I was reviewing some of the modules this morning I realized something. 

Photography captures an image of the light that is reflected / refracted -- projected to us in some way.  I have felt that I need to use photography to testify of Christ.  There is a scripture that asks if I reflect the image of Christ by receiving Him.

We (I am) are created in the image of God.  Therefore, I should / could reflect to those around me His light that I have chosen to partake of.  The images that we see in this life are a reflection of deity.  As a people we can choose to see it and embrace it or not. 

I choose to embrace it...My day to day life and as a result my life over all is so much better and happier because of this choice.

Thought:
We are human beings with natural tendencies.  When something happens my initial reaction is a natural one.  However, I choose to continue with this thought / feeling and as a result embrace it -- consciously or unconsciously.  The question becomes what do I replace it with?  Granted, sometimes it is not so easy or obvious.  But, as with all things it becomes easier with practice.

(Example: anger.  Something happens.  In that instant I do not choose to be angry, it comes naturally.  However, I do choose to continue with the anger or to trade it in for a different attitude.  Insert whatever you struggle with.)

God has provided us with the help that we need to make it through each day.  I choose to seek this help and apply it to the best of my ability.  Grace through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

Education is a slow but rewarding experience.

Week of: November 8, 2014

Began learning how to use the editing software that I received with my camera.  Hopefully, I will soon -- at least sooner than later -- learn how to make it look more like what I was seeing.

There are other trees with this one that have equally briliant colors.  What a calming influence nature has!  What a testimony that Father is watching out for us; providing beautiful things to enjoy and the means by which to provide the healing power that we are in need of.
